HRDC to provide free school lunches beginning June 15

EBS STAFF

When school is let out for the summer, that means many families will lose access to meals their children receive during the school year. To fill that need, beginning June 15, the Human Resource Development Council will again provide free summer meals to anyone under the age of 18 at open community sites across the Gallatin Valley.

Through a partnership with Bozeman Public Library and Bozeman Library Friends and Foundation, free homemade lunches will be available Monday through Friday from 12–1 p.m. outside the north entrance of the Bozeman Public Library. Additional sites include HRDC’s Market Place, Story Mill Park, Montana State University Family Housing and the Bozeman Sports Park.

Shelf-stable meal boxes provided through the Montana Food Bank Network will also be available at Big Sky Community Food Bank and Headwaters Area Food Bank. These shelf-stable boxes will also be available at Market Place in Bozeman every Friday.

A full distribution schedule can be found on HRDC’s website.
