Public meetings scheduled for Oct. 15, 22 and Nov. 12

After Big Sky’s local governance study team hosted its first public engagement meeting on Sept. 24, the team scheduled a series of three fall meetings to share initial findings and continue hearing local input.
The meetings are part of a taxpayer-funded study of incorporation and other potential local governance options for Big Sky. The study will be completed in 10 to 12 months, with updates posted on the study website.
The “Tuesday Series” meetings begin tonight, Oct. 15 at 6:15 p.m. at the Big Sky County Water and Sewer District. The series will continue with meetings on Oct. 22 and Nov. 12. The meetings are intentionally scheduled at various times to accommodate community members’ schedules.
The facilitated discussions will be hosted by Meg O’Leary, president of supporting firm M2O Group, intended to allow residents to engage directly and contribute their perspectives to the study, according to an Oct. 10 press release from the study team.
“The launch event in September opened the door to hear the audience’s first round of questions and comments with over 85 responses from the questionnaire,” O’Leary stated in the release. “This next series is set in a smaller venue, designed to inspire more detailed conversations of what people are thinking about.”
All Tuesday Series meetings will be held at the water and sewer district.
Next week, the Oct. 22 meeting will take place from 8 to 9:15 a.m.
On Nov. 12, the meeting is scheduled for 12 to 1:15 p.m.
