Montana Free Press, a Helena-based independent nonprofit newsroom that reports on Montana politics and environment across the state, has launched its 2026 election guide.
During this election cycle, open until June 2, Montana voters will select candidates to fill six federal and state offices, plus 100 House seats and 25 Senate seats in the state Legislature. With primary election ballots already in voter’s mailboxes, the guide serves as a resource to inform voters on those running.
MTFP’s election guide allows readers to filter by their district and search candidates by name, then read the candidate’s recent news or Q&A, if available.
Ballots are due by June 2; voters can view their ballot’s status and find drop off locations on the elections department website.
