The Montana State University American Indian Council will hold a Powwoww Showcase in Bozeman on Saturday, April 25. Starting at 6 p.m. at the Emerson Center, the AIC will share Indigenous song and dance from across the region. The showcase is a fundraiser meant to teach attendees about the different styles of dance they might see at a powwow, or may have seen at the AIC’s 50th Annual Powwow in late March.
“This Showcase will feature men’s and women’s dance categories that include an introduction to each style of dance and the opportunity for the dancers themselves to share about their connection to the dance and their regalia,” an AIC Facebook post shared.
The Bobcat Singers, comprising MSU students, will sing in the showcase while student dancers take the stage. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets will be sold at the door and are $30 for non-student tickets, $15 for students and are free of cost for children under six.
Profits from the event will go toward the AIC’s 2027 powwow.
