Whether you’re being welcomed as a visitor, or welcomed back home after time away, the state line welcome signs along Montana’s border feel iconic. Initially installed in 2014, the current signage will soon be replaced, and the Montana Chamber of Commerce is asking the public to cast their vote on what the new design will be.

“There’s no better feeling than crossing state lines back home to Montana,” Gov. Greg Gianforte stated in a news release from the chamber. “Our highway signs give our families, friends and visitors the warm welcome they deserve. I am excited to see what Montanans choose.”
Three proposed designs, each reflecting elements of the state’s updated brand, are available for public vote through Dec. 31. With support from the Montana Department of Transportation, the state expects to install the new signs in late spring, pending weather and site access.
