BUTTE – NorthWestern Energy, which provides natural gas and electricity to more than 650,000 customers in the Upper Midwest and Northwest, donated $23,064 during the third quarter of 2012 to local charitable organizations in the Bozeman area through its Community Works Fund.
The fund provides grants to qualified organizations that provide community services in Montana, Nebraska and South Dakota.
Among the 23 organizations that received funding from NorthWestern Energy this past quarter were the Bozeman Public Schools Foundation, the Greater Gallatin United Way, Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter and Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Gallatin County.
To be considered for funding, qualified nonprofit organizations must submit an application or written request with proof of tax exemption. Applications are accepted year round and are reviewed on a quarterly basis.
