Nov. 9 watershed evening in Twin Bridges

Joyce Swartzendruber, the NRCS State Conservationist, will speak on the regeneration of forests and riparian vegetation in the aftermath of recent major floods, on Wednesday evening, Nov. 9, in Twin Bridges at the Missouri Headwaters Partnership’s annual gathering. Swartzendruber is the NRCS State Conservationist and a leader in statewide conservation programs and restoration activities.

The Missouri Headwaters Partnership, a collaboration of nine upper Missouri river watershed groups, is working to enhance upper Missouri conservation efforts in improving local water availability, water quality, ranchland health, and invasive species. The 2011 event will be the eighth annual gathering for citizens interested in important conservation issues in the Upper Missouri River basin.

Doors open at 5:30, with the evening’s festivities starting with a 6 p.m. potluck dinner and followed at 7 p.m. with Joyce Swartzendruber’s presentation and questions. All activities will be at the at the Twin Bridges High School cafeteria (210 W. 6th Ave., Twin Bridges).
