Call for entries
By Kelsey Dzintars Outlaw Partners Creative Director
We’re in the throes of winter, but the Outlaw Partners staff is gearing up for summer production of the next issue of our biannual publication, Mountain Outlaw magazine. With award-winning editorial content, design and photography, the magazine has been described as “Powder Magazine meets Rolling Stone.” Published in Big Sky, Mont., Mountain Outlaw highlights the lifestyle, land and culture in the Mountain West.
Mountain Outlaw has traditionally dedicated 8-10 pages per issue to showcase the work of amateur and professional photographers around the region.
In our 10th edition, we are seeking portrait photography along with a 75- to 100-word caption that tells a fascinating story. Photographers of all ages are eligible to enter, and we will accept portraits from all over the world. While the subject should be a human figure, portraits may include a person’s face or entire body, as well as context.
Up to eight photos will be selected by the Outlaw Partners creative team. Finalists whose photos are printed in the 2015 summer edition will be awarded $50 each. From June 6 to July 3, a Readers’ Choice contest will open for our audience to vote for their favorite photographs online. The Readers’ Choice winner will receive $500 cash and a $500 credit to use toward marketing, video or advertising services from the Outlaw Partners.
The Mountain Outlaw photo contest is free to enter. Interested photographers should submit up to 10 images for consideration to kelsey@theoutlawpartners.com by April 1, 2015. Please submit high-resolution .jpeg images only (300 dpi, at least 8.5” wide). Caption, photographer’s name and website can be submitted in a word document or in the body of the email. Submissions that do not fit within the technical requirements will be disqualified.
The Mountain Outlaw photo contest is an incredible opportunity for artists to share their stories with a broad and diverse audience. With an annual readership of 1.1 million, Mountain Outlaw is distributed in the communities around Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks, mailed to all 50 states and is the in-train magazine on Amtrak’s Empire Builder line spanning from Chicago to Seattle and Portland.
Megan Paulson is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Outlaw Partners.

Event Details
My Barking Dog is a nightmare comedy that tells the story of Toby and Melinda, two lonely people whose lives are forever changed the night they encounter a starving coyote at their apartment building. Over time they grow to expect him, leaving ritual offerings to entice the coyote every night. Toby and Melinda forge a connection over this visitor and share curiosity and concern about his presence in the city. The coyote expands their world–until, one night, their world is shattered. Their lives are pushed suddenly into uncharted territory, sending them on a surreal odyssey that changes their city–and the world–forever.
