Big Sky artist and photographer Kene Sperry will showcase his work on Wednesday, July 15, at Lone Mountain Ranch from 5 to 7 p.m. Attendees will receive a complimentary signed book featuring Sperry’s work throughout the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
A Big Sky local and youth baseball coach, Sperry will donate 33% of sales from the show to Bozeman Baseball to help support youth baseball in Gallatin Valley. Bozeman Baseball organizes recreational and competitive baseball programs for youth ages 6-16 in the community.
“I find it a really good way to give back and help kids learn confidence and team building skills,” Sperry said.
Sperry has been an artist his entire life, dedicating the past 10 years of his career to fine art photography, and known for his unique perspective of shooting black and white photos from a helicopter. With emphasis in the Greater Yellowstone Area, Sperry has created a comprehensive collection of Yellowstone landscapes from an aerial perspective.
“The intention of the work is to bring back the remembrance that we are all one,” Sperry said in an interview with EBS. “That there is no separation in anything.”
Sperry’s photographs range from wildlife to abstract landscapes and nature photos with his signature black and white, aerial viewpoint, or as he calls it “painting with light.”
As his photoshoots extend beyond the Yellowstone region, Sperry will also preview aerial work from New York City, Florida, British Columbia and more at the show.
For those who can’t attend on Wednesday, but want to check out his work, the show will be on display all day Tuesday and Wednesday at the Lone Mountain Ranch barn.
