The annual Rut Mountain Runs—a mountain race series that takes trail runners up and around Lone Mountain—will take place Sept. 10-13. While registration for the general public opens Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 8 a.m., locals of Big Sky, Bozeman and Missoula can join in a local’s registration party for early sign up on Jan. 5.
The Rut includes distances of: VK (a vertical kilometer), 11K, 21K, 28K, 50K, the trifecta and kid’s Runt Run the weekend of Sept. 10.
“A friendly and important reminder that all our distances have historically sold out very quickly,” said Race Director Mike Foote in an email. “So, please mark your calendars, set your reminders, and share with a friend you want to run with this year.”
An opportunity to meet up with the local running community and sign up stress-free will be available to those in Big Sky, Bozeman and Missoula, tonight, Jan. 5. Big Sky’s registration party will take place at Big Sky Resort’s Vista Hall from 4-6 p.m., Missoula’s will take place at The Runner’s Edge from 5-7 p.m. and Bozeman’s at The Mountain Project from 7-9 p.m.
Those attending regulation parties must be present to register and may only register themselves.
