The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect in a shooting in West Yellowstone that occurred on the afternoon of Saturday, Aug. 8. In a press release they described the man as a white male in his late 30s or early 40s driving a silver Toyota pickup with Texas plates and a silver topper. The shooting occurred in the Whiskey Bay area North of West Yellowstone when witnesses reported that the suspect pointed the gun at them, then shot multiple rounds from a handgun into the ground. At the time, eight agencies with over 40 personnel reported to the scene and any information should be reported to the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office.
