On Thursday, Oct. 2, Big Sky residents can join more than 100,000 film lovers across the world in observing and casting votes in the Manhattan Short Film Festival.
The 10-film screening will take place at The Waypoint at 7 p.m., presented by the Arts Council of Big Sky. Tickets are $20 and available online.
“These 10 short films bring a much-needed positive energy to the world,” Nicholas Mason, founding director of the festival, stated in the release.
Finalists hail from the U.S., Spain, Israel, the U.K., Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium and Mexico. The 10 films will screen simultaneously across the world during a one-week period, and attendees will vote for “Best Film” and “Best Actor” awards.
“By virtue of their selection by Manhattan Short, each short film is automatically Oscar-qualified,” an arts council press release stated. Attendees’ votes will be sent through to Manhattan Short headquarters with the winner announced at ManhattanShort.com on Monday, Oct. 5.
