Yellowstone sees 16% more October visitors compared to 2023

In October 2024, Yellowstone National Park hosted 346,025 recreation visits, up 16% from October 2023. 

The park has had 4,692,810 visits so far this year, 6% more than 2023, and trailing 2021 numbers by 2%. 2021 holds the highest recorded visits, at 4,789,349 through October.

Since Nov. 1, most roads in the park have been closed to prepare for the winter season, which will begin on Dec. 15.
