Big Sky Resort’s 18-hole, Arnold Palmer-designed public golf course opens for business May 23.
“The course crew has upgraded the greenside bunkers with lighter quality sand, and the fairway bunkers will be completed this year,” said Mark Wehrman, Big Sky’s head golf pro.
There will be seven tournaments this season, as well as clinics for both men and women. New this summer is the Two Player Spring Draw Tournament on June 7, a 27-hole tournament with the first 18 holes as a two-player better ball shootout, and the last nine as a blind-draw partner scramble.
The season-long match play tournament signups begin opening day for a 32-player field, and each player is guaranteed two matches.
The course was honored with the 2012 GRAA Top 50 Range award in the Public Category, and Wehrman received the PGA Horton Smith Award. Online tee-time booking is available at bigskyresort.com/golf.
