BIG SKY – The inaugural Vine & Dine Festival at Big Sky Resort from Aug. 14-17 will bring more than 20 vintners from around the world to the base of Lone Mountain.

The event will feature wine seminars, educational tastings, inspiring food, local art and music, and the headlining event, “The Wine Stroll.” Google Global Food Program Chef Scott Giambastiani and world renowned Court of Master Sommeliers Fred Dame and Jay Fletcher will be presenting seminars and food demonstrations over the weekend.

“It’s exciting to host such an incredible event, with an amazing lineup of wineries, while learning from master sommeliers and enjoying fabulous foods,” said Steve Merlino, the resort’s food and beverage manager.

Festivities begin Thursday, Aug. 14 at the Peaks Terrace in the Summit Hotel with “Asado,” an Argentinian style dinner offering a selection of seared meats from Montana Wagyu Cattle Company and paired with numerous Argentinian-style wines.

Friday, Aug. 15 will consist of a variety of events, including seminars, a four-course wine pairing, and options to attend dinners paired with wine at local restaurants such as The Peaks Restaurant in the Summit Hotel, Olive B’s, Lotus Pad, Buck’s T -4, Lone Mountain Ranch, and the Cabin Bar & Grill. The evening comes full circle at Whiskey Jack’s with live jazz music from McTuff.

Adventurous wine enthusiasts will get the chance to pair libations with the Lone Peak Expedition and the Adventure Zip Line Tour on Saturday. The main wine tasting event, “The Wine Stroll,” will take place at 5 p.m. throughout Big Sky’s Mountain Village with an opportunity to sample more than 80 wines. The Jazz Your Azz Band will wrap up the night at Whiskey Jack’s.

The weekend ends with Sunday brunch at the Peaks Restaurant, followed by a panel discussion and lecture in the Talus Room of the Summit Hotel for students enrolled in ProStart Montana, a two-year high school program that prepares students to be leaders in the food and beverage industry.
