AACA to host fall meet in Big Sky

ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE CLUB OF AMERICA

BIG SKY – The Antique Automobile Club of America is hosting its Western Division fall meet, “The Meet Under the Mountains,” at Big Sky Resort, Sept. 18-20. This will be the first national event held in Montana for the country’s oldest car club.

The event starts Thursday night with a member’s only reception and benefit for the AACA Library & Research Center hosted by William “Tom” Gerrard of Big Sky at Triple Triangle Ranch, where AACA members will be able to see Gerrard’s private collection of post-war automobiles. Gerrard has supported the library’s mission to save and preserve America’s rich automotive history. The AACA Library in Hershey, Penn. has more than one million documents ranging from blueprints, sales catalogs, and repair manuals, among other artifacts.

Friday afternoon, the AACA will conduct a judge’s training school, which will conclude with a member’s round table discussion. In the evening, the club will host an outdoor BBQ for those who signed up for the event.

The car show will be held Saturday at Big Sky Resort’s Huntley Lodge. Cars are entered into specific categories and are judged according to the AACA Judging Guidelines. The show will be open to the public and cars will be on display from early morning to 3 p.m., weather permitting. Formal judging begins at 11:00 a.m.

The first 100 collector cars visiting the show that are not entered in the meet will receive a dash plaque courtesy of the club and be allowed into a special parking area.
