Locals and visitors from afar logged on to ExploreBigSky.com or filled out surveys by hand, weighing in on their favorites in Big Sky. This survey was conducted in a “write-in” format. Those filling out surveys had the chance to nominate anyone or any business they chose.

Thanks to all the voters for helping us dig up the best of the best, including top restaurant, après ski joint, and outdoor shop around. And congrats to the winners! We all appreciate your hard work.

With outstanding reviews, Lotus Pad customers have only good things to say–mostly that no other Thai food compares. The cozy, yet funky spot is open for dinner seven days a week for dine in, take out or delivery. Whether you’re meeting friends for drinks and appetizers or taking the family out, Lotus Pad will surely satisfy everyone. Call 406-995-2728 to make a reservation (recommended).

Best Breakfast:

Best Hot Springs:

Big Sky locals’ favorite spot for a soak is Chico Hot Springs, located in Pray, Montana, just north of Yellowstone National Park. A large and small natural pool are open to guests every day of the year from 8 a.m. – 11 p.m. The history of Chico Hot Springs dates back to 1865, adding character to the delightfully warm waters. After soaking in the pools, guests can enjoy lunch, dinner or drinks at the Poolside Grille. Call 406-333-4933 for more information.

Community Member of the Year:

1st – The Rapiers

2nd – Ryan Hamilton

3rd – David O’Connor

In 2012 alone, George and Kym Rapier have given close to $1 million to Big Sky and Greater Gallatin Valley organizations. From donating ski passes to LPHS students, to donating $200,000 to Morningstar Learning Center, to providing funding for the new Parent Liaison position at the Ophir School, the Rapiers have largely contributed to Big Sky’s growing community in the past year. The Rapiers feel the more people can give back to the place they live, the more the community at large will benefit.
