On Tuesday, Feb. 3, Gallatin County and the Big Sky Fire Department will host a public meeting to discuss a recent error in fire tax collections within Gallatin County affecting BSFD. The meeting is intended to provide transparency, share information, and answer questions from the community, according to a social media post promoting the meeting.
The meeting will discuss what led to the fire tax collection error, corrective actions that have been taken, how the collected taxes were used and how it impacts the Big Sky Fire Department. A question and answer session will follow where the public can ask any clarifying questions.
The meeting will take place at The Wilson Hotel conference room at 5:30 p.m. There is a virtual attendance option via Google Meet for those who can not attend in person.
