The Big Sky Real Estate Collective announced it raised $106,261 in 2025, marking its largest annual total since the organization was founded in 2021.

The Collective is a voluntary group of local real estate agents who pledge 1% of their gross commissions to support community priorities including affordable housing, child care, behavioral health services and environmental initiatives.

“The Big Sky Real Estate Collective was created on the belief that the real estate community can positively help steer the future of Big Sky,” a press release about the new milestone stated. “By working together, participating agents and brokers commit financial resources to help address some of the region’s most pressing challenges.”

Nine agents participated in 2025: Justa Adams, John Bauchman, Ania Bulis, Michelle Horning, Mia Lennon, Derek Lennon, Katie Morrison, Allen Potts and Ashley Quande.

“I’ve been proud to be part of the Big Sky Real Estate Collective for several years,” Horning stated in the release. “By joining forces with other local agents, we’ve been able to make an even greater impact in our community. As a longtime resident, giving back to the place that helped raise my family is deeply important to me.”

Funds raised in 2024 were distributed in 2025 to the Big Sky Community Food Bank, Big Sky Sustainability Network Organization (SNO), Big Sky Bandage and Wellness in Action. Since its founding, the Collective has also supported the Big Sky Community Housing Trust, the Center for Large Landscape Conservation and the Big Sky Community Organization.

Sarah Gather Bivins, operations manager of the food bank, said the Collective made an immediate impact on the nonprofit service provider.

“Because of this investment, we’ve been able to build out a more robust food rescue and recovery program to serve all of Big Sky,” she stated in the release. “We are certain that we can recover more food from our community’s vacation rentals and second homes, which will drive down both our food costs and food waste in our community.  It’s a win-win, and we needed this grant as the catalyst to get us there.”

Funds raised in 2025 will be distributed through the organization’s 2026 grant cycle, with more details announced in the coming months.

“By committing a portion of their professional success back into the community, participating agents demonstrate how collective action can create sustained, local impact—one transaction at a time,” the release stated.
