One Valley Community Foundation has announced the return of its Nonprofit Cafe series for 2026–27, a free monthly workshop program for nonprofit staff, board members and volunteers across Gallatin County. The series begins Friday, Aug. 28, and runs through May 2027, sponsored by Yellowstone Club Community Foundation. Each 90-minute session covers a different topic in nonprofit management, including donor engagement, ethical storytelling, AI adoption, major gifts and program evaluation. More nonprofits report relying on the series amid shrinking professional development budgets, stated an Aug. 25 press release from One Valley. According to One Valley’s most recent nonprofit needs survey, the share of respondents citing the foundation’s programming as a significant part of their professional development rose from 8% in 2025 to 36% in 2026, while those naming One Valley as an important resource for local nonprofits increased from 50% to 71%. Survey respondents attributed the shift in part to the loss of federal funding, which several said had led their organizations to scale back or pause training budgets.
“Our nonprofit community is the backbone of Gallatin County, and investing in its strength is one of the most powerful things we can do for the region as a whole,” said Bridget Wilkinson, president and CEO of One Valley in the release.
