What is the Big Sky PBR?
The Big Sky PBR was the brainchild of several groups throughout the Big Sky, Montana community. In 2011, the groups brought the PBR Tour to town, but only after machines could pull the sagebrush out of the tough dirt and create a makeshift arena. Gates, chutes, dirt and grandstands in place, the two-night show was scheduled to begin August 1.
Tickets were sold, and families came from across the country to stay in town and participate. On the first night, fans packed Chopper’s in the Big Sky Town Center to bid wagers on riders in the event called the Calcutta. Also that night, Wyoming singer/songwriter Jessica Kilroy performed for the crowd.

The group that put on the event released an economic impact study that outlined the impact the small unincorporated town felt as a direct result of the event.
