The Bozeman Public Library will celebrate the close of the 2025 Children’s Summer Learning Program with a fun-filled Dragon Festival on Friday, Aug. 15. From noon to 2 p.m. on the Library front lawn, children as young as infants to age 11 and their caregivers are invited to create dragon-themed art, craft dragon costumes, investigate explosive science, roast treats over open flames, hunt for dragon eggs and explore a fire engine as part of the event.
“Dragon Festival celebrates the joy, deep learning and enthusiastic reading of our community’s children this summer,” Ellie Newell, youth services department head, stated in a press release from the City of Bozeman. “We hope all kids come to this fantastical festival.”
Dragon Festival is presented in partnership with the Bozeman Fire Department and Tinworks Art, with special musical guests The Treble Makers. A partnership between HRDC and the Bozeman Library Friends and Foundation will provide a limited number of free sack lunches for kids.
This program is open to the public and free of cost. Attendees are encouraged to walk, bike, bus, or carpool to the Library, as parking is anticipated to be tight.
