On Wednesday, July 30, cancer survivors, caregivers and their families are invited to a special community barbecue hosted by Cancer Support Community Montana and Bozeman Health.
The event will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. at Bozeman Health Big Sky Medical Center, and organizers request that attendees RSVP by calling 406-582-1600. The “Stronger than Cancer” barbecue is a CSCMT tradition to celebrate resilience and community, offering a space for cancer-affected community to forge connections. A similar event took place in Bozeman on July 23.
“By coming together, we are reducing stigma, connecting cancer survivors, caregivers, and their families, and ultimately creating a stronger, more supportive community for those impacted by cancer in and around Big Sky,” stated CSCMT’s CEO Chris Darnell in a press release.
CSCMT expanded its services to Big Sky in 2024, offering non-medical services including support groups and counseling, education, fitness and yoga at the Big Sky Medical Center. All are free of charge to not only the cancer patient, but to family, friends, coworkers or anyone else impacted by an individual’s diagnosis or in their support system.
