Crash on Bozeman’s Huffine Lane claims two lives

On Saturday, Jan. 11, a crash on Huffine Lane near Four Corners in Bozeman resulted in two fatalities.

According to a press release from Montana Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 8:07 p.m. in snowy and icy conditions near mile marker 84 on U.S. Highway 191 (Huffine Lane), roughly two miles east of Four Corners. Two vehicles were involved, with alcohol and speed listed as suspected factors in the crash.

A Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 41-year-old resident of Glendale, Arizona was traveling east toward downtown Bozeman when it crossed the center line into the westbound lane and collided with a Ford F-250 pickup truck, driven by a 16-year-old male from Bozeman. 

Both the Silverado’s driver and passenger, a female of unknown age or place of origin according to the MHP release, were pronounced dead on scene. The victims’ identities have not been released by Gallatin County as of Jan. 13. 

The 16-year-old was injured and transported to Bozeman Health Deaconess Regional Medical Center.
