Gear review: Black Diamond Sprinter USB headlamp

By Renae Counter Explorebigsky.com Contributor

The new Sprinter headlamp ($69.95) from Black Diamond gets you out of the office and onto the trail.

What’s innovative: It charges via USB port, so while you’re plugging away at the desk it’s fueling up for your after-office adventure. When it lights up green, the charge is complete and all signals are go.

On its highest setting, 75 lumens, the Sprinter can run up to six hours, and up to 42 on lower settings. A rear red light keeps you visible to vehicles, and the weather resistant exterior leaves no excuses, even in evening rain or snowstorms.

Added bonus: the expandable cord from the back battery pack to the light gives ensures you look like an all-out badass.
