Get ready for July 4th: Freddy Pink Kicks Off Big Sky Summer Free Music Series

What better way to kick off a great summer of music in Big Sky than with one of the region’s hottest live rock and soul bands… for free!

Freddy Pink, a nine-piece band from Seattle, Wash., will be back in Big Sky after a amazing show last year, on Monday, July 4, at 7 p.m., presented by the Arts Council of Big Sky.

Influenced by the great legends of Rock and R&B, the guys who make up the Freddy Pink Band freely admit that they have not reinvented the wheel. They were most complimented when a local writer stated “Freddy Pink’s music is edgy, passionate, and full of fire, yet it slides on comfortably like your favorite pair of blue jeans.”

Through the years Freddy Pink’s “A” list performers have worked with music giants Tina Turner, Sly and The Family Stone, Tower of Power, Ray Charles, Randy Brecker, Chris Botti, Little Richard, Johnny Rivers, Natalie Cole, Dr. John and Canada’s favorite R&B legends The Powder Blues.

The group began as a Northwest club and festival act in the mid eighties, performing their own arrangements, melding R&B with Rock and Roll to create a sound they would call “Rock and Soul”.

Freddy Pink’s continued success around the country brings their original brand of Rock and Soul to the far reaches, but through their success they have always remained true to their Northwest roots, and the fans that enabled them to follow their dream.

The evening will end with the area’s most spectacular fireworks after the show. Coolers are permitted into the venue, but please leave glass containers and dogs at home. Beer, wine, soft drinks and a variety of food will be available for purchase from local vendors. There will also be kids activities, including a climbing wall and inflatable bouncer from Airtime Inflatables from 6-8 p.m.

The Arts Council of Big Sky is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing musical and artistic performances to the Big Sky Area. Free Thursday night concerts start on July 7 and run through August 25.
