Governor to recognize centenarians



The Governor’s Advisory Council on Aging will
recognize all Montanans that are, or will be 100 years
of age or older by Dec. 31, 2011 at the 43rd annual
Governor’s Conference on Aging, Oct. 4 in Billings and
Oct. 6 in Havre.

Montana’s 2000 census showed 162 centenarians. That
number increased to 277 in 2010, and it’s estimated the
state will have over 3,000 by the year 2025.

The centenarians are invited to a luncheon at the conference. Those who reply will receive a centenarian’s
recognition proclamation from the Governor and a free

would like them to be recognized, supply the following
information by Sept. 12:
1. Name and address.
2. Where and when were they born? If not born
in Montana, what is their story on how they got
to Montana?
3. What is the secret to their longevity?
4. What has been the most amazing event in their
life that they would like to share?
5. What is their favorite quote?
6. Anything else they would like us to know?
7. Will they be attending the luncheon?
