Many talented Big Sky women of all ages will be on stage this Sunday, Dec. 3 for the fourth annual Her Gift/Her Creation performance at the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center.
Founder and director, Klaudia Kosiak had the idea to showcase talented and artistic women in Big Sky who normally don’t get an opportunity to showcase their creative and artistic dreams, talents and hobbies.
“Her Gift/Her Creation is an opportunity for women in our town to shine,” Kosiak said. “Many with hidden skills who might surprise their neighbors, friends, co-workers, and even their spouse and children.”
Kosiak said the first year she had to work hard to get the word out about the show and to get participants to perform. But for the last two years, she proudly stated that she now gets text messages and emails throughout the year from women who have seen the performance and want to be a part of it. The show now sells out every year.
“My favorite memory of all of the events is how close all the ladies become, whether they are showing their art pieces or performing on stage,” Kosiak said. “They support each other, they cry happy tears for each other, and they shine for each other.”
This year, the show will feature 12 performances and the proceeds from ticket sales will support a new program at BASE beginning in January 2024, which will empower female teens to thrive through fitness, mindfulness, creativity and community.
“The fact that we get more and more women interested in performing is a testament to how this event inspires our children, friends and neighbors,” Kosiak said. “Our performers feel special, powerful and recognized. And the audience responds so enthusiastically because they know we are all fighting our own fears to be on stage, but we do it anyway. We are role models that anyone can do anything on stage and at any age.”
