Big Sky Resort is bringing in some big music acts for the “March Music Mayhem” series March 14 – 21 at Whiskey Jack’s.

Kicking off the month of mayhem is McTuff on Friday, March 14. A movin’ and groovin’ adventure, McTuff’s mix of stellar musicianship and seasoned songwriting creates a powerful, jaw-dropping funk and jazz sound like you’ve never heard.

Boulder, Colo.-based Leftover Salmon brought electric bluegrass and rock ‘n’ roll to the mainstream in 1989, and they’re bringing it to Big Sky Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16.

Can’t get enough? The Weekenders bring their raw rock ‘n’ roll to Whiskey Jack’s on Monday, March 17, and the Jeff Crosby Band will play the following night.

“[Crosby’s] guitar playing is frankly ripping,” said acclaimed singer/songwriter Jerry Joseph. “He’s got a big thoughtful voice and a great hungry band.”

The Magic Beans, a genre-fusing Colorado act with original songs and virtuosic playing, takes the stage March 19.

All this music mayhem leads up to the final two nights, March 21 and 22, with Jerry Joseph and the Jackmormons, a group that has been a Big Sky tradition for more than 10 years.

“Two nights of Jerry is what we are accustomed to here at Big Sky in March,” said Music Mayhem organizer Steve Merlino. “We have been doing that for quite a while. The difference this year is the Mayhem Series. You are going to need stamina to stand up to this series of high-powered music… Just when you think it’s over, Jerry Joseph rolls into town. It really is analogous to the big skiing we are all used to around here.”

Merlino is still busy nailing down a few more acts and promises great après ski music daily on the stage at Whiskey Jack’s.

Tickets are available online for Leftover Salmon, Jerry Joseph and the Jackmormons, and will also be sold at the door.
