Montana State University and the Downtown Bozeman Association will host the 13th annual Cat Walk from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, along Main Street in downtown Bozeman. The event is free and open to the public. It will take place rain or shine.
MSU President Brock Tessman will join the Bobcat mascot Champ, the Spirit of the West Marching Band, members of the cheer squad, students, student-athletes and community members as they make their way downtown to create Bobcat buzz ahead of the new school year. The group will visit businesses along the way, play the MSU fight song and pass out Bobcat gear, treats for kids and game schedules. Football and volleyball players will also provide autographs.
The walk will begin at 11 a.m. at First Interstate Bank, 202 W. Main St., and move east down the south side of Main Street, stopping at several businesses along the way. Midway through the event, the walkers will make a 20-minute stop at Soroptimist Park at the corner of Main Street and Rouse Avenue for refreshments and player autographs.
Participants will then head west down the north side of Main Street and stop into businesses there. The event will end around 1 p.m. at a location to be determined near Grand Avenue and Main Street.
“We encourage all Bobcat fans to walk with us and spread Bobcat spirit,” said Amy Kanuch, MSU interim chief marketing officer.
