Gregory Dean Nally, 69, of Big Sky, Montana, passed away on March 2, 2026. Born on Oct. 18, 1956, he was a beloved member of his community and known for his dedication to local causes.

Dean was a 1974 graduate of Nelson County High School in Bardstown, Kenntucky. Over the most recent years, he was employed at Ace Hardware, The County Market, and the Big Sky Resort Golf Course, where he was appreciated for his hard work and friendly demeanor.

He had a profound love for the outdoors, regularly engaging in walking, hiking, and cross-country skiing. Dean was also a committed volunteer, deeply involved in numerous community service organizations, reflecting his concern for local issues such as housing and food scarcity.

Dean is survived by his mother, Fern Walker Blanford; stepfather, C.A. Blanford; sister, Carla Taylor; step-siblings Jane, Mike, Perry, Betty Sue, Dean, and Cindy Blanford; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl W. “Sonny” Nally; brother, A. Dale Nally; stepsister, Rebecca Blanford; and grandparents, Otto and Esther Walker, J.C. and Marie Nally, and a large group of cherished friends from his community.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Dean’s memory to the Big Sky Community Organization, Big Sky Community Housing Trust, or Big Sky Community Food Bank. These donations will support local parks infrastructure and assist community members facing housing and food challenges.

Dean will be remembered for his kind spirit, his passion for the outdoors, and his unwavering commitment to his community.
