Patagonia launches women’s fly fishing line

The clothing company Patagonia has launched its first women’s specific fly fishing collection, including waders, insulation and sun wear, outerwear and river boots.

“I feel like this is the first line that has really been developed by women in the industry, that know how clothing or waders need to fit a woman, and look on a woman, and function for a woman,” said Patagonia fly fishing ambassador Millie Paini in a video announcing the launch.

The goal with the collection is to allow anglers to fish comfortably all day, according to press information from Patagonia.

Technical specs on the Spring River Waders include an adjustable suspension system that allow them to function as a hip wader or a full wader; water proof pockets; fleece lined hand warmer pouch; single seam construction for durability in the legs; and merino grid lining into the booties for warmth and comfort.

Also in the line are the River Salt Jacket, with similar fishing-minded construction and specs; two different tackle vests; and four different kinds of wading boots with felt, sticky rubber and metal studs, metal bars, as well as separate river crampons. – E.W.

The line is available in stores now, and at patagonia.com.
