The nonprofit organization Indivisible Bozeman announced that Bozeman residents will demonstrate on West Main Street on May 3 “to demand that Montana leaders put regular working people and families first over billionaires.”
In an April 28 press release, the organization stated “With Republicans selling us out to help billionaires like Elon Musk get even richer, and planning to cut Medicaid, SNAP, and other vital programs to fund massive tax cuts for billionaires, Bozeman residents will be clear – this cannot stand.”
On May, at noon, those participating in the May Day Strong demonstration will gather on West Main Street to tell representatives in Congress to “keep their hands off” Medicaid, Social Security, economy, specific world alliances, universities, public lands, and hands off immigrant neighbors.
This protest follows Indivisible Bozeman’s April 5 rally and march, which saw hundreds of residents participate. Indivisible Bozeman also organized a March 21r town hall event at the Bozeman Public Library.
“People are organizing in multiple Montana communities, to make it clear to the people who are supposed to represent us that they need to stand with us,” the press release concluded and stated that non-violent action is a core principle for all events.
