On Sept. 5, around 5 p.m. the Hyalite Fire District responded to a structure fire at the Hyalite Youth Camp located in Hyalite Canyon. When crews arrived, a small utility building at the camp had smoke coming from the roof of the structure.
The City of Bozeman Fire Department and AMR ambulance assisted Hyalite’s three structure engines, one water tender, two incident command vehicles, one Gallatin County Sheriff’s deputy and one ambulance, bringing the fire under control within 30 minutes.
The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental and the only damage reported was two propane generators and solar power equipment.
“The Hyalite Fire District thanks our mutual partners for helping with this incident,” stated a Sept. 9 press release from the Hyalite Fire District.
