BIG SKY — Professional dance, music and theater performances will come to the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center this summer, setting the stage for artistic innovation and entertainment for the community.

Talent from the James Sewell Ballet has collaborated with the Ahn Trio to bring a new work-in-progress to the WMPAC stage on July 16 at 7 p.m. The James Sewell Ballet is a Big Sky favorite, having performed at the WMPAC for many years. Made up of three sisters from Seoul, South Korea, the Ahn Trio is composed of a violinist, a pianist and a cellist, and is known for performances in new classical music, often crossing genres. The final performance will be presented as part of the WMPAC’s 2023 winter season.

The two-time Grammy Award-winning choir The Crossing, referred to by the New York Times as “America’s most astonishing choir,” and renowned singer/songwriter Shara Nova of My Brightest Diamond will take the stage on Aug. 5 as part of the Bravo! Big Sky Music Festival. The show will be the first formal collaboration between The Crossing and Nova.

The final element of the WMPAC’s summer season will invite audiences to on-location, site-specific pop-up theater in collaboration with Bozeman’s Nervous Theater. Dubbed ‘The Tiny Theater,’ the theater will serve as a beta test for a small traveling theater space offering short performances to those who wander by. The Tiny Theater will debut these short, free performances later this summer at Big Sky Farmers Markets.

“I’m excited by the possibility of programming content for this uniquely intimate space that embraces the relationship between audience and actor,” said Nervous Theater Director Connor Berkompas.

Tickets for all WMPAC summer performances can be purchased online at warrenmillerpac.org.
