Yellowstone August visitation

The park recorded 805,173 recreational visitors in August 2011. That is
the second highest monthly visitation level ever recorded. However, it is
down 5.8-percent from the 854,837 visitors to the park in August 2010.

The number of recreational visitors entering Yellowstone this summer is off
compared to the previous year, but up slightly compared to 2009. Park
visitation for the first eight months of the year is also down compared to
the record year of 2010, but nearly equal to visitation levels recorded in
2009.

July is typically the park’s peak visitation month, followed by August,
June, September and May.
