After an initial storm system passed through Sunday morning, additional snow and high winds are expected to continue through Monday evening impacting visibility and road safety. According to an Oct. 27 press release from the park service, conditions will be assessed today to determine when they can safely reopen. The road between Gardiner and Cooke City remains open at this time.
Visitors are asked to check the park’s road conditions page for the most up-to-date information before traveling. A notice on YNP website also reminds visitors that the federal government has been shut down since Oct. 1, and some services are limited or unavailable.
