Yellowstone sees 3% decrease in June visitation from 2021

Yellowstone National Park saw lower visitation rates in June, with a 3% decrease in visitation from 2021. The drop comes off of a busy May which brought 15% more visitors than May 2023, Yellowstone hosted 8% more visitors in June 2024 than in June 2023. 

In June, 914,612 visitors recreated in the park, according to a July 16 Yellowstone National Park press release, with 1,633,739 recreation visits so far in 2024. Recreation visits this year  surpassed 2021 numbers, which previously held the five-year record for busiest period for Yellowstone National Park  at 1,587,998 visits.
