Opening lineup includes Swifty and Ramcharger, two magic carpets, six trails and base area festivities

Ahead of their opening day tomorrow, Nov. 22, Big Sky Resort announced the terrain options skiers and snowboarders will have available.
Six runs will be open,as well as a terrain park near the base area with six features. Swift Current 6, Ramcharger 8 and two Mountain Village carpets will move people to the top of the slopes, according to a Nov. 20 release. This will be the longest-running season in the resort’s history, totaling 159 days, with a planned closing date of April 28, 2024.
Opening day festivities will begin at 8:30 a.m. ahead of a 9 a.m. lift opening. Complimentary breakfast and hot drinks will be served at the base area until 10:30 a.m., a live DJ will play music in the afternoon and Map Brewing will host a beer tasting—a Big Sky Resort press kit hinted at a limited-edition “Tram Cabin IPA” celebrating the new Lone Peak Tram.

“Thanks to major snowmaking upgrades in recent years and an extraordinary effort from our team, we’re looking forward to kicking off our 50th anniversary season with a big celebration,” Troy Nedved, the resort’s general manager, stated in the release.
Skiers can pick up their passes starting at 8 a.m.
“Mountain operations teams will continue to assess terrain daily. Additional terrain and lift announcements can be found on Big Sky Resort’s trail status page,” the release stated.
The new, highly-anticipated Lone Peak Tram will open to the public on Dec. 19.
