On Tuesday, May 21, a paleontologist, naturalist and museum educator will teach attendees the basics of birding with “Birds & Brews.” Museum of the Rockies’ Ashley Hall, whose research specializes in the evolution of birds, will lead the 6 p.m. class at MAP Brewing Company in Bozeman.
Attendees will learn how to properly use binoculars, identify birds based on shape and call, and learn how to create their own eBird account, where they can track which birds they discover outdoors. The event will cost $15 for members of the Museum of the Rockies and $20 for non-members.
Organizers will provide spare binoculars to borrow during the class for anyone who needs a pair.
