The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office is requesting help from hunters and hikers in the New World Gulch/Bear Canyon area in locating David Butzin, who has been missing since November 2024. The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office identified Butzin as a 63-year-old man in 2024 and noted that his vehicle was located in the New World/ Bear Canyon area.
GCSO stated in a Facebook post that it was common for Butzin to venture off-trail and there are no leads to his location beyond the named area.
“If you find yourself in this area, please keep an eye out for anything that may help us in locating Mr. Butzin,” the post stated. Anyone with information can contact Gallatin County Communications at 406-582-2100.
