Montana’s highest mountain, Granite Peak, sits at 12,799 feet above sea level in the Beartooth Mountains. While a trek to the summit usually takes a few days, Bozeman Daily Chronicle’s Samuel Wilson tried it in a day—and documented his journey in “Going Granite: Reaching Montana’s tallest peak in a day.”
