Snowmobilers can apply for snowmobile access to Yellowstone National Park without a commercial guide soon, according to Yellowstone National Park July 22 press release. On Aug. 1, people can apply for the 2024-2025 winter lottery, which would allow permit holders to visit the park in groups of up to five snowmobilers for three days.

The lottery applications will be open throughout the month of August. The park will notify who is granted a permit in early September and any unclaimed and canceled permits will be made available online on a first-come, first-serve basis.
