Lifts reopening as of this afternoon, weather advisory in effect for Big Sky until 9 p.m.

A weather advisory is in effect in Big Sky along with the Gallatin, Madison and Centennial mountains until 9 p.m. the evening of March 28.
“Due to a lighting storm in progress, all lifts are currently closed,” Big Sky Resort announced on their app. The alert instructed skiers and riders to refer to the Resort Updates Page for information about shuttles between the resort’s two base areas.
As of noon on March 28, lifts have begun to re-open after the brief closure.
According to the National Weather Service in Great Falls, two to four inches of snow is forecasted to fall in Big Sky and the Gallatin and Madison mountains. In the Centennial Mountains, located between southwest Montana and Idaho, between five and nine inches is anticipated.
Thunder at high elevations is possible this afternoon and tonight, with steady temps in the mid-30s and a low of 19F at night. Wind gusts are anticipated as high as 23 miles per hour this afternoon and 19MPH tonight.
