Gallatin County officials are encouraging the public to provide any information related to street signs theft across the county. According to a press release from the Gallatin County Sheriff’s office, 49 street signs were stolen in the county over the weekend of Jan. 27. Replacing signs range from $200 to $3,000 when stolen or destroyed.

“The absence of vital street signs poses a serious safety risk for drivers navigating our community,” the release stated. “Moreover, the depletion of resources required for sign replacement diverts Gallatin County Road Department staff from essential projects, hampering the efficiency of vital public services.”
