During a code blue weekend from Jan 12-14, HRDC’s emergency shelters in Bozeman provided services to more than 100 people each night to get the community out of the cold.

On Jan. 14 evening, the Bozeman shelter provided a warm, safe place to sleep for 118 people, and 18 people in the new Livingston emergency shelter. “These numbers are an all-time high for both shelters,” the release stated.

HRDC thanked community members in the release who volunteered and donated money, clothing and blankets in the “extreme cold snap.”

Though the frigid temperatures have subsided for now, HRDC stated that financial donations of any amount are welcome so that the organization can continue caring for people in Gallatin and Park counties.

The Warming Center is located at 32 South Tracy Avenue in Bozeman.
